TWENTY PRINCIPLES FOR MAINTAINING SLIMNESS

Life won't be perfect.
Some relationships just can't be.
Now is not forever.
You can't please most of the people most of the time.
You can often please yourself and the ones who love you most.

Hope for the good always, and plan well for progress.
Suffering is inevitable so you might as well learn from it.
Don't think you are smart enough to know better than God what is best.
Don't believe in things that are not real.
Rely on faith in God for a good life.
Most good things take a lot of time.
Imagine what you want, ask God for help and work hard.
Replace bad things with good things, even if it takes a long time.
Some difficulty will always exist.
You can't fix other people.  You can't make them happy.
All people are inadequate; enjoy them and learn from them anyway.
All-or-nothing thinking will bring you trouble and failure.
Learn to seek what is best and stop seeking perfection.
Control yourself.
Never attempt to control others, except by agreement.
If you are going to say yes, say yes quickly.

THE LANGUAGE OF FOOD

I have too much on my plate.
I can't swallow it.
That's a lot to chew.
Bite the bullet.
Chew the fat.
Eat it!
He throws me a few crumbs now and then.
Don't bite off more than you can chew.
I want it so bad I can taste it.
It was a bitter pill.
I drink it up.
Kiss my grits!

THE MINDLESS HELPERS:  These are the treatment programs that cause
additional pain, reduction of self-esteem, loss of body parts, lowered
self-confidence, and increased dependence on structure, i.e. more reliance on
compulsiveness.  These are usually accompanied by  both money in the pocket
and ego sustenance for the treatment provider.
